Our delicious and healthy culinary oils have been a favorite with home chefs, food enthusiasts, and culinary artists for over 30 years. In the 1970’s, the orginators of our company invented the first method of hulling sesame seeds that did not involve chemicals. They continued innovating and developed a patented method to "cold press" the hulled sesame seeds to create a new extra virgin grade of sesame oil with superior aroma and flavor and a longer shelf life. This led to the launch, in 1985, of our signature Extra Virgin Sesame Oil. On its heels came the aromatic and rich-tasting Roasted Peanut Oil and the delicate, nutty-flavored Safflower Oil. Together, these three became Loriva’s first line of exceptional, all natural culinary oils. The line was wildly successful in gourmet specialty stores in the eastern United States where it gained in popularity with fully engaged home chefs, food enthusiasts, and cooks. Mounting awareness of these delicious, healthy oils generated more demand and the creation of new varieties.

As more high quality cold pressed oils were added to the line, we expanded distribution throughout the United States and Canada into specialty stores and larger grocery chains. Our line of high quality, unrefined and refined culinary oils grew and now comprises 14 varieties. The oils are high in antioxidants and rich in healthy monounsaturated fats. All of the Loriva Oils are expeller pressed and most are also cold pressed. Our oils have a high smoke point which expands their versatility in cooking – one may be perfect on your fresh salad where another may be better suited for your signature Asian stir-fry.
